Equal Opportunity at the Law School
The Law School is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in education and employment.
Equal Opportunity means that all staff and students have the right to fair and equitable treatment and access to resources and services.
Students with a concern regarding equity should, in the first instance, speak with the administrative staff from their relevant program office. Responsibility for ensuring equal opportunity in education at the Law School is administered through the various teaching programs. Where appropriate, issues may then be referred to one of the Law School's Equal Opportunity (EO) Liaison Officers and/or Equal Opportunity Committee.
The Law School has identified groups of students who may face equal opportunity issues and appointed academic staff members to liaise between these groups of students and the faculty. The EO Liaison Officer positions that have been established are:
- Indigenous Students EO Liaison Officer
- International, Cultural Diversity and Non-English Speaking Background Students Liaison Officer
- Queer (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex) Students Liaison Officer
- Mature Age EO Liaison Officer
- Disabilities EO Liaison Officer
- Gender EO Liaison Officer
