Workplace Bullying

The University is committed to creating an educational and workplace environment that is free from bullying and occupational violence.  Workplace bullying and occupational violence are unacceptable and the University has developed the Management of Workplace Bullying and Occupational Violence Policy to address these issues when complaints are made against a staff member.

The Equity and Diversity Unit have created webpages providing information and advice regarding what constitutes workplace bullying and occupational violence. The University also has trained a team of workplace bullying advisers who are able to provide advice in a confidential setting.

Please note that the information provided on these pages only applies to when an allegation of workplace bullying or occupational violence has been made against a University of Melbourne staff member. Human Resources advise that if anyone wishes to make a complaint regarding bullying or occupational violence about a student, the matter should be referred to the Academic Registrar.
