Inclusive Practices in TeachingThe University has produced a guide entitled Encouraging Inclusive Practice in Teaching, Learning and Assessment that can also act as a checklist to ensure that teaching practices are inclusive. Further information regarding teaching at the University of Melbourne including details about current goals, initiatives and strategies is available from the Learning and Teaching Management Plan. The Equity and Diversity Planning Unit has prepared a brochure regarding Improving Information Access for Students with a Print Disability which includes guidelines to ensure that students with a print disablility are not disadvantaged when producing course materials. The DLU (Disability Liaison Unit) has also included some information regarding inclusive teaching strategies within their online staff handbook. The CATS (Creating Accessible Teaching and Support) website and CSHE (Centre for the Study of Higher Education) Teaching and Learning Resources webpage also provide advice and information to assist with developing inclusive practices in teaching. |
