Female Staff - EOWW Resources

The Equal Opportunity for Women Plan was developed to assist the University in working towards addressing the barriers that prevent women's inclusion and full participation in the University.

The University also has an Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace (EOWW) network that meets four times a year to discuss and evaluate different faculty strategies and initiatives to enable academic and professional female staff to achieve their full potential. The Law School's representative on the EOWW network is A/Prof Beth Gaze.

Guidelines on Creating the E/Quality Workplace: A Guide for Heads of Departments on Implementing Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace were developed by the EOWW Network together with the EO Unit as a resource to assist Heads and managers in improving practices and raising performance in their departments. This guide was developed in consultation with Heads and other senior academics including participants in the Head Start and Headway programs in 2004.

Training

The University offers online training in Workplace Discrimination and Harassment - Legal Compliance. From January 2008 all new continuing and fixed-term staff are required to complete the course and are automatically enrolled. Within two months of commencement, new staff will be sent an email advising of their course login and how to access and complete the course. The course takes approximately two hours to complete and all current staff are strongly encouraged to complete this program.

For further information and how to enrol, please contact Dr Hang Nguyen.

For further information regarding the EOWW  Plan and other key initiatives relating to women in the University  workplace, please refer to the information available from the Human Resources' Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace website.
